Some useful and inspiring websites:

Richard Davies‘ site about travelling in the Russian North in search of the churches documented by the artist Ivan Bilibin in 1902-1904 – ‘a unique web-based portal’ designed to promote the cultural heritage of the Russian Federation, created by the Russian Ministry of Culture. It includes a variety of materials – news, graphics, photos and videos.  It did have a very impressive resource of virtual tours of museums and galleries, but this seems to have disappeared (as at March 2014). I hope it returns.
